- Inaugurated and opened to the public on 25 December 2002 by then Prime Minister Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee

- Planned interchange with the Blue Line at Mohan Nagar

- Rithala – Narela corridor may extend to Kundli, Haryana, adding about 27.319 km with 22 stations, 26.339 km elevated and 0.89 km at grade. Of the 22 stations, 21 will be elevated and one at grade (subject to approval)

With a new update, Delhi Metro passengers will now be able to buy mobile-based QR tickets on Amazon Pay with DMRC. Digital QR tickets can be booked through Amazon Pay. The introduction of this facility will help passengers make quick and contactless payments without any hassle.

According to Delhi Metro Managing Director Vikas Kumar, AI (Artificial intelligence) will soon be used in Delhi Metro, crowd management and maintenance of trains will be done through artificial intelligence (AI) on all corridors of Delhi Metro's Phase-4. Trains with three and six coaches will operate on these corridors and the number of coaches will be increased or decreased as per the need.

Part of the Delhi Metro's fourth phase is set to open in August, including the 03-km stretch from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg. Civil work for this section has been completed, paving the way for final safety certification and inspection before the corridor becomes operational. According to a Times Now report, the Janakpuri West portion of the new corridor will be elevated, while the Krishna Park Extension portion will be at ground level. Work on all corridors under Phase 4 is progressing at a rapid pace and the project is expected to be fully operational by March 2026.
